Leonidas joins Riccardo Chailly and the Filarmonica della Scala at the BBC Proms on 25 August, the orchestra’s debut at the festival. Leonidas performs Brahms Violin Concerto, part of a programme that also features Respighi’s seminal Roman tone-poems, the Fountains of Rome and the Pines of Rome.

Leonidas and Chailly recorded the Brahms Violin Concerto with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra for Decca in 2013. Their performance was proclaimed by the Guardian as “superb… It’s a long time since there was a new version of this concerto as good as this.”

The concert at the Proms is preceded by a performance of the same programme at the Lucerne Festival on 24 August.
