Leonidas and Yuja Wang reunite for a recital tour of Europe this month, starting with a concert at the Philharmonie de Luxembourg on 11 December. Performing works by Janáček, Schubert, Debussy, Beethoven and Bartók, the duo also visits the Tonhalle in Zurich, Antwerp’s deSingel International Arts Campus, Victoria Hall in Geneva, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Vienna’s Musikverein and Accademia Nazionale de Santa Cecilia in Rome and bring the tour to a close at London’s Wigmore Hall on 19 December.

Leonidas and Yuja are regular recital partners and their collaboration has included tours and a critically acclaimed recording of Brahms Violin Sonatas in 2014. They toured Europe and the United States in January and February of this year to great acclaim:

“The [Schubert] Fantasie began in appropriately ethereal realms. Wang made otherworldly tremolos and trills glitter like stars in the night sky. Kavakos’ tone has the character of striking high-grade silver sinew, ever beautiful, graceful and unbreakable, the ideal sound for Schubertean lyricism.”
Los Angeles Times

“An evening of the highest-level music making… one of the grand events of the season.”
Washington Post

“[Kavakos] enchanted with a sensitive sound… an experience of perfect harmony between piano and violin.”
Süddeutsche Zeitung

Leonidas begins December with a return to the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He joins the orchestra and their Music Director Andris Nelsons for three performances of Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No.2 on 30 November and 1 and 2 December.
