Leonidas tours China

Leonidas travels to China this month, performing both concertos and in recital with Enrico Pace. Kavakos begins the tour in concert with the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra on 9 November, performing Mendelssohn and Beethoven violin concertos conducted by Long Yu. He then appears with the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra on 11 November, performing Mendelssohn with condcutor Lan Shui.

On 13 and 14 November Kavakos is joined by his regular recital partner Enrico Pace for performances in Xi’an and Nanjing where they perform works by Beethoven, Prokofiev and R. Strauss.

The tour continues with performances of Mendelssohn and Beethoven concertos in Beijing with the China Philharmonic under Long Yu on 16 November, and Beethoven violin concerto with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and Jiemin Zhang on 18 November.
