Leonidas Kavakos appears live on the New York Philharmonic’s Facebook page at 1.30pm Eastern Time (6.30pm BST) on 18 October, ahead of the first concert of his season-long residency with the orchestra on 20 October 2016.
Kavakos will discuss conducting the New York Philharmonic, Bach Violin Concerto No.1 and how one plays and directs simultaneously. In the first concert of his residency, he conducts Busoni Berceuse élégiaque and Schumann Symphony No.2, and also directs and plays Bach Violin Concerto No.1.
